Information for Graduates
10:00 a.m. Ceremony
- Graduate arrival time is 8:30 AM.
- Graduates should arrive dressed in their commencement regalia with no additional items. There is no storage space at the venue to place personal items. SCTC nor New Hope Baptist Church will be liable for lost or stolen items. Once you leave the holding area you will not be able to return.
- Upon arrival at New Hope Baptist Church, please park in the designated area(s). Do not park in reserved parking spaces. Access to graduate parking will be facilitated by turning onto Neely Rd.
- Please refer to the Parking Map Key for student parking
- Students will enter at the “Welcome Center Entrance” at Building C. This entrance is for Graduates only.
- Check-in tables for name cards will be the first stop for all graduates. Graduates must keep their issued name cards with them at all times.
- If you participated in any SCTC club or organization(s), you will need to see the advisor(s) in regards to tassels and/or cords for that club or organization prior to the day of graduation.
- Participating graduates will receive one diploma cover at the ceremony. SCTC has teamed with Parchment to offer both a hard copy and official digital version of your credential. Official credentials are mailed out approximately 8-10 weeks after final grades are received at the end of the graduating term.

Information for Guests
10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Ceremonies
- Guest seating will begin at 9:00 a.m. for the 10:00 a.m. ceremony and 1:00 p.m. for the 2:00 p.m. ceremony.
- All guests will enter through the main lobby, and are advised to make their way to the sanctuary for seating.
- Kindly show respect to others and avoid saving seats
- Childcare facilities are not provided during the ceremony. All children must be under adult supervision at ALL times. Daycare on site is for New Hope Weekday Education Enrollees ONLY. Not for graduates or their guests.
- Graduation gifts will be available for purchase at the venue prior to and after the ceremony, provided by the SCTC bookstore.

Conduct and Prohibited Items List
To ensure the health and safety of all venue visitors and staff, the following rules and regulations are to be observed at all times:
- Be Considerate. The New Hope Baptist Church is a shared space. All guests, graduates, faculty, and staff have the right to enjoy the facility. The use of inappropriate language, harassing behavior, and/or public intoxication will not be tolerated. These behaviors, along with the following activities, are grounds for a guest’s dismissal from the venue:

- Standing and/or taking pictures in the aisles
- Sitting and/or standing on the shoulders of another guest
- Throwing objects of any kind
- Weapons are strictly prohibited, including, but not limited to, guns, firearms, stun guns, pocketknives, wallet chains, mace, and/or pepper spray. New Hope Baptist Church is a Weapons Free venue.
- Smoking and tobacco use are strictly prohibited, including, but not limited to, Vapes, E-Cigs, snuff, dip and chewing tobacco. New Hope Baptist Church is a Smoke and Tobacco Free venue.
- Illegal substances and their use are strictly prohibited. Guests found in possession of illegal substances or under the influence of any substance will be escorted out of the church and will be subject to prosecution.
- No tickets will be distributed. All graduates have been advised to be conscious of the number of guests they bring. Please do not save seats. Please be advised that once the venue is at full capacity, admission into the ceremony will be closed.
Prohibited Items
Before entering the church, graduates and guests are advised to leave all prohibited objects at home or in their cars. Entry with forbidden items may result in dismissal from the premises.
Please be aware that New Hope Baptist Church and Southern Crescent Technical College assume no responsibility for any confiscated items.
Guests are PROHIBITED FROM BRINGING the following items into New Hope Baptist Church:
- Aerosol cans
- Balloons are not permitted in any facility building
- Banners, posters, fliers, and/or signs
- Beverages (only bottled water allowed in the sanctuary)
- Bottle openers and cork screws
- Candles (with flame) and/or torches
- Chewing gum
- Confetti is not permitted in any facility building
- Fireworks and/or explosives
- Food (no food is allowed in the sanctuary)
- Hoverboards
- Illegal substances, drugs, and/or paraphernalia
- Laser pointers and/or lighters
- Noise making devices
- Motorized vehicles
(Except wheelchairs)
- Mace and/or pepper spray
- Pets and/or other animals
(Except service dogs.)
- Political campaign materials
(Including, but not limited to t-shirts,
buttons, postcards, and fliers.)
- Selfie Sticks
- Tobacco products or vape pens
- Wagons, strollers, and/or carts
- Weapons, wallet chains, knives, guns, or stun guns of any kind
