What We Offer

The SCTC Library is available to assist you with your research needs or any other library related questions. We are confident that you will find our library collection and services valuable! The library also provides quiet areas for studying, and common areas to facilitate group study and collaboration.

  • Student Computers
  • Group Study Room - Study Rooms are available for students at the Griffin and Flint River Campuses.
    • Griffin Study Room: up to 4 people
    • Flint River Study Room: up to 6 people
    • Please call the circulation desk at your preferred campus to reserve a study room
  • Printing, Copying Scanning - Printing is available for students/faculty/staff, Black and White costs $.10 cents per page and color is $.25 cents per side.
    • Students: You are given $15.00 your first semester to use towards printing.  When funds run out, you may add funds to your account at the circulation desk (cash only).

Renew, Borrow, Return Materials

Check us out! Students and staff are able to check-out library materials such as books, DVD's, and audiobooks using their student/staff ID card.
  • Books - check out for 8 weeks
  • DVD's - check out for 2 weeks
When you reach the end of your loan time, you can renew or return to the SCTC Library front desk or Library dropbox.

Student I.D.'s

Student I.D.’s are made in the Library. All registered students are required to have a Student I.D. Please bring your current Student Detail Schedule and a photo I.D. (example: drivers license). Clinical I.D.’s are made in the Library. Your instructor is required to fill out a Clinical I.D. form for their students and submit it to the Library in order for us to make clinical I.D.’s for the students they list. Lending Library

Through Student Support Services, you may be eligible to borrow textbooks! To apply, fill out the online application by clicking on the Lending Library icon at the top of this page.

Laptop Loaner Program

Need to borrow a laptop? Students are able to borrow laptops from the Library for one whole term! It's a first come, first service basis. To apply fill out the online application by clicking on the Lending Library icon at the top of this page.

Interlibrary Loan

Can't find the materials you need in the Southern Crescent Libraries' collection? Don't worry - through Interlibrary Loan, we can still request a copy of the resource you need from another Georgia library.

The process is easy! Fill out the Interlibrary Loan Request form. If the item you request is available, it will be sent to the SCTC pickup location of your choice within 1 - 2 weeks.

Current students have borrowing privileges with Clayton State University and Gordon State College, you may visit their libraries during our closed hours. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Online Library Orientation

An independent virtual presentation that familiarizes students, faculty and staff with the services, spaces, and resources offered through the SCTC library. Participants will briefly learn how to search for books, academic articles, get help from librarians, and use our library services. To reserve a librarian for in person library instruction and orientation, please contact the library or complete the online form.

Tech Share

TechShare is a service where you can request library books from other colleges in the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG). Requests in TechShare can be delivered to any TCSG library.

  Who can use TechShare?

Students, Staff, and Faculty at all TCSG colleges

Circulating books only. AV materials and reference books are not available through TechShare.

28 days, with 2 automatic renewals. Requests through TechShare should arrive at your college library in 3-4 business days.

No. There are no overdue fines, but you will be charged a replacement cost if you lose or damage a book.

Yes, and fines may apply if the book is not promptly returned.
