Four students from the Southern Crescent Technical College chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) recently attended the State Leadership Conference, held at the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North March 31 – April 2, 2023. This conference was attended by FBLA Collegiate chapters from colleges across the state. During the conference, students compete in over 50 competitions including accounting, business, computers, management, marketing, and public speaking. They also attend workshops to expand their business knowledge and network with each other and exhibitors representing business and industry, as well as colleges and universities. The conference concluded with an awards ceremony and banquet where the students are recognized for their achievements which included:
Ai’Jona Perry – Forensic Science Technology
1st place Social Media Marketing (qualified to attend NLC)
3rd place Emerging Business Issues

Elijah Murphy – Business Management
3rd place Organizational Behavior & Leadership (qualified to attend NLC)

Also attending and competing was Jeremiah Henley – Electrical Systems Technology. In addition, CIS Instructor Gordon Carns and Business Management Instructor Frank Amaro accompanied the students to the conference.
Ai’Jona Perry with her 1st place win in Social Media Marketing and Elijah Murphy with his 3rd place win in Organizational Behavior & Leadership both qualify to attend the National Leadership Conference in Atlanta and compete with winners from across the nation.
