More than 200 business and industry professionals and community leaders met on November 7 on the Griffin Campus for the annual Fall Semester Advisory Committee dinner and meetings.
The purpose of these meetings is to ensure that SCTC programs and their teaching content remains up-to-date with the constantly changing industry needs. During these meetings, program staff solicit input from members to assist in the evaluation of program effectiveness, job development, job placement, program promotion and evaluation (in relation to standards), program advocacy, and business and industry support of the program. Advisory committees promote interaction between program faculty and businesses and industries served by the program and faculty use the expertise of advisory committee members to enhance program content.
SCTC President Dr. Irvin Clark addressed the members stating, “Your expertise and knowledge are at the center of the success of our academic programs and services. I cannot thank you enough for your time, efforts, and commitment to the betterment of this great College.” Committees meet twice each year.
