On November 6, 2024, supporters of Southern Crescent Technical College (SCTC) and The University of Georgia Griffin Campus (UGA-G) joined together to attend the first of four intimate and casual dinners at the Dundee Café on The University of Georgia Griffin Campus. This dinner series aims to foster community and educational partnerships between the two institutions and their supporters and highlight key programs offered locally.
Local community members and supporters gathered to enjoy a gourmet meal provided by talented SCTC Culinary students under the guidance of their faculty. This collaboration will enhance students’ culinary technical skills through food preparation and presentation, provide real-world experience in customer service and business operations, and introduce the community to SCTC and UGA Griffin’s academic programs and services.
Dr. Irvin Clark, SCTC President and Dr. Jeffrey Dean, Assistant Provost and Director of the University of Georgia Griffin Campus kicked off the Fall Harvest Dinner by welcoming attendees to the event.
After dinner, participants moved outside to learn more about SCTC’s Nursing programs. Kimberly Register, Vice President of Academic Affairs at SCTC introduced Amy Adams, Dean of Nursing, and Erin Jones, Department Chair of Nursing, who both highlighted the highly acclaimed Nursing programs at the College. A portion of the proceeds from the dinner will benefit SCTC’s high-demand Nursing Programs.
“Southern Crescent Technical College and UGA-Griffin are both focused on creating unique opportunities for both the students and communities that we serve,” said Dr. Clark. “We are thrilled to partner with our colleagues at UGA-Griffin to offer this dinner series where we can showcase both institutions and our remarkable programs while strengthening our commitment to local partners.”
